Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Extrusion Operator to join our team at SITE Staffing. As an Extrusion Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machines that extrude and form continuous filaments from synthetic plastic materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate extrusion machines to produce high-quality filaments, ensuring accurate settings and material requirements.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for defects, such as wrinkles, splits, bubbles, and incorrect dimensions, to ensure adherence to customer specifications.
  • Production Management: Manage multiple priorities, including organizing and coordinating production tasks, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform minor machine maintenance, such as lubricating machines and cleaning dies, to prevent malfunctions and ensure optimal performance.
  • Inventory Management: Count and report production and inventory at the end of each shift, ensuring accurate records and minimizing waste.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in extrusion operations, with knowledge of working with various Quality Control measuring devices.
  • Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Working Conditions

The Extrusion Operator will work in a fast-paced production environment, with regular exposure to machinery, chemicals, and physical demands. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
