Job Title: Industrial Hygienist

The Industrial Hygienist position at Trinity Consultants Engineering & EHS Workforce Solutions requires a high level of expertise in anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, preventing, and controlling conditions that could result in illness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in the workplace.

This onsite assignment involves performing assignments independently, but in cooperation and alignment with the established procedures and objectives of the Industrial Hygiene Manager and Team. The individual carries out assignments ranging from simple technician level tasks to moderately complex tasks in any area of the industrial hygiene program.

The Industrial Hygienist will be responsible for maintaining compliance, achieving best practice (where feasible), and providing continuous improvement in goals and objectives, while expanding the incumbent's training and experience in the various phases of the program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishment of Exposure Controls/Exposure Elimination for New and Existing Materials
  • Exposure Based Risk Assessments (Qualitative and Quantitative)
  • Purchase and Maintenance of Media and Industrial Hygiene Sampling Equipment (Calibration/Service)
  • Ability to perform research on equipment function and maintenance requirements as well as other IH related functions.
  • Exposure Sampling Method Determination, Execution, and Verification of the Accuracy and Validity of the Sampling and Analysis Results
  • Independent Execution of the Sampling Plan and Employee Initiated Requests for Sampling
  • Biological Sampling (surface, air, liquids)
  • Chemical Sampling (surface, air, liquids)
  • Noise Assessment and Control
  • Lighting Assessment
  • Indoor Air Quality Assessment
  • Ventilation and Control System Assessment
  • Report Writing
  • Communication of Sampling Results
  • Coaching/Training on Exposure Risks and Effective Use of Controls
  • Maintenance of Legal Documentation for Assessment and Sampling Activities
  • Completion of Basic Ergonomic Assessments
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree (BS/MS) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health discipline.
  • Minimum 3+ years independently performing Industrial Hygiene Risk Assessments, Exposure Monitoring, and Investigations, Suggesting and Establishing Exposure Controls, Utilizing and Maintaining IH Sampling and Analysis Equipment, Completing Technical Reports, and Maintaining Legal Documentation for all IH Related Activities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong Technical Writing Capabilities
  • Basic Legal Documentation Skills
  • Ability to Multitask, Track Projects, and Successfully Follow Up on Open Tasks
  • Ability to Take Direction/Follow Direction/Be Trusted to Work Independently/Be Teachable

  • Ability to wear a respirator and protective clothing, climb a ladder, and lift/carry up to 40 pounds, occasionally.
  • Ability to visually inspect work areas, assess conditions of use, and use Industrial Hygiene related sampling equipment.
