Job Summary

The Neonatologist will provide high-level clinical excellence through safe, prompt, and evidence-based medical care to patients at Level II-Level IV NICUs and newborn nurseries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients by obtaining comprehensive histories and examining patients to obtain objective physical data and supporting information.
  • Formulate differential diagnoses and develop treatment plans, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, and make appropriate referrals as indicated.
  • Maintain ongoing documentation of patient interventions, including initial assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and any other patient interactions.
  • Collaborate with nursing, support personnel, and administration in matters affecting patient care.
  • Ensure patient rights are protected and HIPAA regulations are adhered to.
  • Responsible for teaching medical students, pediatric residents, and neonatal fellows.
  • Initiate and/or participate in specific research or other scholarly activities.
Qualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree required.
  • Active Scholarly Program with publication history is desirable.
  • Active CT Physician license.
  • Active DEA.
  • Board eligible or certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine as appropriate.
