Position SummaryThe Heavy Equipment Technician is tasked with executing repairs, maintenance, and modifications on diesel and gasoline-powered construction machinery, light and heavy trucks, and passenger vehicles. This role also includes fueling and lubricating equipment as necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine inspections on vehicles and machinery to ensure optimal functionality.
- Identify mechanical issues in pickup trucks, heavy-duty vehicles, passenger cars, and various diesel and gasoline-powered construction equipment.
- Assess the extent of repairs needed; evaluate used components to ascertain the cause of mechanical failures and determine whether parts are reusable or require replacement.
- Overhaul, repair, and fine-tune engines, both standard and automatic transmissions, brake systems (air and hydraulic), clutches, differentials, axles, suspension systems, ignition and electrical systems, computerized ignition systems, steering and control systems, and generators; perform instrumentation repairs as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with the tools, methods, and equipment necessary for preventative maintenance and servicing of construction machinery, light and heavy trucks, and passenger vehicles.
- Proficient in using CAT ET & SIS, John Deere Service Advisor.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical service manuals.
- Welding skills are a plus.
- Ability to identify and report defects or malfunctions during inspections.
- Capable of following both oral and written instructions.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate effectively with team members.
Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour (negotiable based on qualifications and experience).

Applicants must be physically capable of performing assigned tasks, including pushing and pulling 30 lbs, carrying 50 lbs, and lifting 60 lbs. Candidates should also be able to stand for extended periods.
