Located in the vibrant Kansas City metropolitan area, MNU is committed to nurturing students to serve with purpose, grounded in a liberal arts educational framework and a Wesleyan-holiness theological perspective.
With an enrollment of approximately 1500 students, half of whom are traditional residential students, MNU is seeking a dedicated nursing faculty member for a full-time, 11-month appointment.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will play a vital role in the teaching and assessment of nursing students within the School of Nursing. Responsibilities include:
- Curriculum and course development and coordination.
- Instruction in classroom, online, and clinical settings.
- Conducting outcomes assessments and student advising.
- Engagement in scholarship and committee participation.
- Recruitment activities as needed.
Essential duties involve:
- Contributing to the ongoing enhancement of quality nursing programs aligned with student needs and educational objectives.
- Maintaining punctuality for all scheduled classes, meetings, and appointments.
- Adhering to the MNU Faculty Handbook and fulfilling the teaching load specified in the annual faculty contract.
- Developing and delivering relevant coursework in various formats.
- Advising students and supporting their retention in the nursing program.
- Participating in the assessment and evaluation of programs and curricula.
- Integrating faith and learning, serving as a positive community role model.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications for this position include:
- An earned master's degree in nursing, with a doctorate (PhD, DNP, or EdD) preferred.
- Previous teaching experience in academic settings, particularly in traditional, hybrid, and online formats.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with instructional technology.
- Knowledge of current issues in nursing education and practice, along with program/course development and outcomes assessment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to the Christian mission of MNU.
Additionally, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing degree.
- RN licensure in Kansas and Missouri (or the ability to obtain).
- University-level academic experience is strongly preferred.
Work Environment:
This position is based in a standard office and classroom setting, requiring occasional travel between campus buildings and participation in weekend and evening events as necessary.
