Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer Echo Lab Specialist to join our team at Next Move Healthcare. As a key member of our echocardiography lab, you will be responsible for performing complex cardiac ultrasound procedures, interpreting results, and collaborating with physicians to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Advanced Cardiac Ultrasound Procedures
    • Utilize state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to obtain accurate and high-quality results.
    • Identify and define cardiac abnormalities, extending the scope of the examination as needed.
  • Collaborate with Physicians
    • Assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms by performing echocardiograph studies to aid in complex procedures.
    • Work closely with cardiologists to perform transesophageal studies, calculating measurements and sterilizing probes.
  • Prepare Patients and Maintain Lab Equipment
    • Prepare patients for procedures, obtaining clinical history and adjusting imaging techniques as needed.
    • Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the echocardiography lab and its equipment.
  • Act as a Resource and Quality Coordinator
    • Act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, and studies.
    • Work closely with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to ensure quality processes and protocols are adhered to.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Graduate of an accredited program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within 30 days of hire or transfer.
    • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
    • Ability to explain the purpose of the echocardiographic examination to patients and answer questions.
    • Knowledge of approved clinical protocols for each type of cardiovascular ultrasound examination.
    • Knowledge of proper infection control and patient confidentiality.
