Nurse Substitute

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Substitute Nurse to join our team at the Carlisle Area School District. As a Substitute Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students.
Responsibilities- Organize and perform state-mandated health and wellness screenings for students.
- Provide care for students who are ill or injured, chart daily care, and record all care provided.
- Maintain comprehensive health records on all students.
- Organize and assist the physician and dentist with state-mandated physical exams.
- Serve as a resource for classroom teachers and the community regarding health and wellness education.
- Administer medication according to school district policy.
- Order supplies and maintain an inventory for each health room.
- Complete and submit all reports requested by the PA Department of Health and/or the district.
- Serve as a member on the Student Assistance Team and the Code Blue Team.
- Locate families and communicate health care needs of students.
- Write individual health care plans and/or sections of individual education plans, as necessary.
- Provide health immunization clinics as assigned.
- Registered Nurse
- Valid CPR certificate
- Submission of pre-employment medical examination
- Submission of a report of criminal history record from the Pennsylvania State Police
- Submission of a clearance report from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare
- Submission of the Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form
The Substitute Nurse will work in a typical nursing office environment and may be exposed to hazardous materials, body fluids, or disease.
RequirementsThe ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be able to make judgments, and work under high levels of stress.
