Job Summary

Southern Michigan Bancorp is seeking a skilled Commercial Credit Risk Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our credit team, you will be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial loan customers and contributing to the loan decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate financial information for new and existing borrower relationships to assess their creditworthiness.
  • Prepare presentations of proposed loans, including objective recommendations regarding creditworthiness.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of our bank's loan products and policies, as well as industry standards and banking regulations.
  • Collaborate with the credit team, loan officers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective credit risk management.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to maintain a high level of expertise in credit risk management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business.
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial credit risk management or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software applications.
