Position: Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Overview
Helio Health is dedicated to addressing and fostering recovery from the impacts of substance use, mental health challenges, and various behavioral health issues. In alignment with this mission, the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct medical and psychiatric evaluations, order necessary laboratory tests, and assess the psychiatric and substance use disorder care requirements for patients. The NP will also facilitate appropriate medical and psychiatric referrals, aiding staff in understanding patient needs, all under the medical and clinical oversight of the program's Psychiatrist.
The Nurse Practitioner will have the opportunity to work on a Full-Time or Part-Time basis within a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic.
Compensation: $72.00/hr - $78.00/hr
Working Relationships
- The Nurse Practitioner operates independently under the administrative guidance of the Service Director and/or Program Director, alongside the medical and clinical supervision of the Psychiatrist and/or the Chief Clinical Officer.
- The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with patients, agency personnel, volunteers, community organizations, and other medical/psychiatric service providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care through medical examinations, psychiatric consultations, implementation of medical directives, and treatment of psychiatric disorders.
- Participate in special review and quality assurance committees as required.
- Document and provide medical and psychiatric consultations, assessments, examinations, treatment planning, and reviews in accordance with agency policies and standards.
- Perform other related tasks and responsibilities consistent with qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
- Must possess a Nurse Practitioner license and be currently registered with the New York State Education Department.
- A minimum of one year of experience in treating mental health and substance use disorders is required.
- Must be capable and willing to prescribe all available Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) options.
- Possess prescriptive authority and a DEA number.
