Mainframe Developer Position

At Saxon Global, we are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL. The developer will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and implementation of Mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and implement Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
  • Develop and maintain existing applications and interface files.
  • Write Adhoc queries and SPUFI's using DB2 SQL statements.
  • Meet with users, gather and analyze user needs and software requirements.
  • Conduct unit testing and assist with integration testing.
  • Provide development status updates to management.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for software development.

Requirements:
  • Experience with Mainframe development using COBOL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, and JCL.
  • Experience with TELON (COBOL Code generator).
  • Ability to work in a software development environment following waterfall and Agile/scrum methodologies.
  • Production on call will be required.
