Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and implement care for patients based on individual needs.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patients receive the best possible care.
  • Uphold patient rights and nursing ethics in everyday practice.
  • Follow infection control procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Delegate responsibilities to support staff in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate leadership and contribute to performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN required for all RNs hired after January 1st, 2018.
  • Experience: Acute care nursing experience preferred (one year for non-medical/surgical or step-down units).
  • Licensure: Current New York State RN license.
  • Certifications:
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
  • ACLS certification required for all RNs except NICU and OR (must be obtained within 6-12 months of hire, based on experience).
  • PALS certification required for specific units (Emergency, Pediatrics, etc.).
  • NRP certification required for Mother-Baby, Labor & Delivery, and NICU RNs.
