About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commodity Manager to join our team at Sierra Space. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing category-specific strategies to optimize procurement and capture cost savings.

You will conduct market research to identify new suppliers, analyze market conditions and assess risks and opportunities within the category. Additionally, you will negotiate supplier agreements to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.

You will serve as a category subject-matter-expert (SME), collaborating with internal stakeholders such as engineering, manufacturing, and product development teams, to align category management strategies with overall business objectives.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Commodity Manager who is passionate about procurement and supply chain management. You will have a strong understanding of category management principles, including market analysis, sourcing, and procurement.

You will have excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

You will be a strategic thinker, with the ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. You will also be a team player, with a strong commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and typically 8 or more years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, cost modeling and budgeting
  • Comprehensive understanding of category management principles, including market analysis, sourcing, and procurement
  • Supply chain certification(s) preferred

This role will be based in our headquarters, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
