Job Summary:

The Director of Respiratory Therapy is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the provision of high-quality patient care in the Cardiopulmonary Services department. This role involves managing staff, budget, and resources, as well as developing personnel and fostering interdisciplinary relationships within the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages, including basic and advanced treatments.
  • Communicate changes in respiratory therapy treatment with healthcare team members.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and implement respiratory protocols based on established policy and procedure.
  • Provide education to patients, students, and coworkers as needed.
  • Assemble, check, and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment.
  • Maintain clinical and professional competency based on established standards of practice.
  • Assist in orienting new employees and developing the department's strategic plan.
  • Oversee department budget and process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and provide education to staff on facility policies.
  • Lead and promote teamwork within Cardiopulmonary Services, ensuring that professional staff can provide direct and indirect patient care and clinical services.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other clinical services to achieve program goals.
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • RRT/Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT/RCP) certification.
  • Bachelor's degree.
