Job Title: Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

The Christie Clinic is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Department of Spine and Pain. This is a full-time position, working Monday through Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced healthcare professional to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative medicine under the supervision of a physician. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Obtain complete medical histories and physical data on patients, reviewing patient records as needed.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, performing focused physical exams and recording findings.
  • Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures, synthesizing data to determine preliminary diagnoses and therapeutic plans.
  • Administer injections, immunizations, and oral medications as needed, preparing written prescription orders for drugs and controlled substances.
  • Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention, recommending community resources to meet patient and family needs.
  • Provide patient education, instructing patients and families regarding medication and treatment instructions.
  • Assist physicians by recording patient progress notes, issuing diagnostic orders, and transcribing orders.
  • Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation, performing independent evaluations and treatment procedures in emergency situations.
  • Communicate effectively with providers and staff, providing monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Successful completion of a post-basic advanced practice formal education program.
  • Successful completion of all other requirements to practice as a nurse practitioner.
  • Evidence of annual completion of health-related courses and/or seminars with a certificate or CEU's.
