Job Title: Cobol Programmer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Cobol Programmer to join our team at Saxon Global. The ideal candidate will have experience in Mainframe systems, including Syncsort, JCL, and COBOL programming. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing analysis, designing documentation, testing, and debugging processes in accordance with departmental policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of new and existing Mainframe applications systems to understand the impact of proposed modifications.
• Design and execute appropriate documentation, testing, debugging, and support processes in accordance with departmental policy.
• Develop and maintain Mainframe applications using COBOL, MVS utilities, MVS JCL, and CICS Command Level programming.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure successful project delivery and maintain high-quality standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cobol and Mainframe systems, including Syncsort, JCL, and COBOL programming.
• Proficiency in Business Writing, Project Management, Time Management, and Conflict Resolution and Teamwork concepts and practice.
• Experience with SDLC Methodology and Change Control software.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Healthcare industry experience.
• Proficiency in LAN, Intermediate Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Working familiarity with Easytrieve and/or other computer languages, including ISPF.
