Job Title: Maintenance Technician IV

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician IV to join our team at Dal-Tile, a leading manufacturer of tile and natural stone in the United States.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician IV will be responsible for performing complex mechanical duties and electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair, and distribution of electrical energy. This includes troubleshooting PLCs, designing and redesigning programs and software, and installing, maintaining, or repairing equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs using hand-held devices or laptops
  • Design and redesign programs and software (PLCs, operator panels, etc.)
  • Install, maintain, or repair equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electrical energy
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical systems or equipment working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
  • Work standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment
  • Knowledge of serial port communication systems, VFDs, and process control instrumentation devices (thermocouples, pressure switches, etc.)
  • Knowledge of servomotors and drive units
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of electrical code
  • Journeyman electrical license preferred
  • Associate degree in industrial electronics preferred
  • 4 or more years industrial maintenance experience and 2 years industrial electrical experience
  • Formal PLC training preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)
Competencies:
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and PLCs
  • Ability to score 80% or better on the Industrial Maintenance exam
  • Ability to read and understand procedures in English
  • Ability to test motors and electrical circuits using a voltmeter and amp meter
  • In-depth knowledge of LGV equipment and operation
Work Environment:

The associate will be required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate may be required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The associate will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
