Job Title: Radiology Tech Team Lead

Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Coordinator, the Radiology Tech Team Lead will oversee the daily flow of patients through the department and coordinate daily exam assignments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and control the daily flow of work through the department to ensure staff and patient productivity expectations.
  • Maintain quality control on all assigned instrumentation.
  • Collect patient histories and other related information, coordinating and communicating with the radiologist and all others as needed.
  • Provide radiation protection measures.
  • Properly position and monitor patients when doing imaging examinations and during the procedure.
  • Administer contrast media under the direction of a physician and in accordance with department policy.
  • Utilize sterile technique and assist with invasive procedures.
  • Responsible for patient and technologist schedules in the absence of the Section Coordinator.
  • Transport patients in a secondary capacity, when transporters are not available and dictated by necessity.
  • Set a positive example for staff through professional knowledge, appearance, personal conduct, and interactions.
  • Inform the Section Coordinator, Clinical Manager, and/or Director of staffing problems and difficulties.
  • Oversee and direct technologists and ancillary staff in work areas and quality.
  • Responsible for the care and condition of technical equipment related to the job.
  • Report malfunctions and problems to the proper persons, including management personnel.
  • Interact with the Radiologists and management to solve immediate difficulties within the section.
  • Participate in in-service and training activities as necessary.
  • Recommend the procurement of supplies, equipment, and area modifications necessary for operations.
  • Must be able to work with all levels of personnel in the Radiology Department.
  • Participate in the interview process for open positions in the section.
  • Provide input for annual evaluations and assist in competency checks.

Requirements:
Graduate of an approved school for radiologic technology.
Active KBMIRT at time of hire. ARRT within 90 days of hire.
Current CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
Management experience preferred.
