Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice to join our faculty at Western University of Health Sciences. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, research, and service in the College of Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education
    • Develop and implement curriculum for pharmacy practice courses
    • Teach pharmacy practice courses to Pharm.D. students
    • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
    • Collaborate with other faculty members to develop and implement educational programs
  • Scholarship
    • Develop and implement an extramurally funded research program in pharmacy practice
    • Contribute to the body of knowledge in pharmacy practice through publications and presentations
    • Develop and implement new methods of teaching and learning in pharmacy practice
  • College and University Responsibilities
    • Serve on university and college committees
    • Develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, faculty, and students
    • Represent the College of Pharmacy and Western University of Health Sciences in a positive and professional manner
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in professional and scientific organizations
    • Develop and implement entrepreneurial activities within the college and university
    • Work to become a master teacher
Requirements
  • Pharm.D. degree or Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline
  • Consistent with current College promotion and tenure documents
  • Experience in teaching, research, and service in pharmacy practice
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed a residency or fellowship in Acute Care
  • Professional interest in Acute Care
  • Experience in teaching and/or research; publications; and presentations
Working Conditions

This is an exempt, faculty appointment with normal working hours of Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Off-schedule work hours are a regular requirement of this position. This position may require domestic and international travel.
