Role Overview:

Under the guidance of the Center Director, the Pre-K Classroom Aide collaborates closely with the Pre-K Lead Teacher to design and implement engaging learning experiences while assisting in the daily operations of the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the teacher to arrange the classroom into functional learning areas.
  • Ensure a clean, healthy, and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervise children during all activities, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Monitor children's physical conditions and communicate observations to the teacher.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments of children's developmental progress.
  • Assist in preparing lesson plans and organizing materials for interactive learning.
  • Implement daily schedules that cater to the developmental needs of each child.
  • Take charge of classroom management in the absence of the teacher.
  • Encourage creative expression through various art mediums.
  • Showcase children's work prominently within the classroom.
  • Facilitate individual, small, and large group activities.
  • Plan and execute a balanced mix of structured and open learning activities.
  • Communicate supply needs to the teacher effectively.
  • Utilize community resources for enriching classroom experiences.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences and home visits as needed.
  • Establish age-appropriate classroom rules in collaboration with the teacher.
  • Maintain order using positive behavioral management techniques.
  • Ensure smooth transitions between activities.
  • Participate in required meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines specific to the site.
  • Report any concerns regarding safety, abuse, or maintenance promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Employment Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, including criminal record and drug screening.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
