Job Summary:The School Health Care Professional will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students and staff in a school setting. This includes administering first aid, evaluating students with illnesses or health conditions, and communicating with parents and staff as needed.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medical care and support to students and staff: Administer first aid, evaluate students with illnesses or health conditions, and communicate with parents and staff as needed.
- Monitor and coordinate daily scheduled medication: Work with parents, local physicians, and staff to ensure that students receive their prescribed medication in a timely and safe manner.
- Work with parents and staff to meet individual medical needs: Collaborate with parents, local physicians, and staff to develop and implement plans of care for students with chronic health conditions.
- Report health needs and concerns: Communicate with school administration and staff to ensure that health needs and concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner.
- Provide in-services and training: Offer training and education to staff on health-related topics and procedures.
- Maintain clinic supply inventory: Order and manage clinic supplies to ensure that they are adequate and up-to-date.
- Perform vision and hearing screenings: Conduct vision and hearing screenings for students as needed.
- Report to and work closely with the Health Services Coordinator: Collaborate with the Health Services Coordinator to ensure that health services are provided in a timely and effective manner.
- LPN or RN licensure: Must be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Georgia.
- Basic literacy skills: Must possess basic literacy skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
