Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to work collaboratively in our ambulatory clinic setting. This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care, actively participating as a member of the healthcare team, and performing assigned tasks in accordance with Monument Health's policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepares examination and treatment areas per clinic standards.
  2. Completes patient rooming procedures, including vital signs, data collection, and other identified components specific to the clinic setting.
  3. Accurately administers and documents unit dose medications/immunizations in accordance with clinic policy following successful training/competency.
  4. Performs EKGs and laboratory testing per CLIA license of the clinic following successful training/competency.
  5. Ensures documentation in the patient record is accurate, clear, concise within outlined Scope of Responsibilities.
  6. May function as provider scribe following successful training.
  7. Completes all assigned clerical activities and supply maintenance/ordering as directed.
  8. Assists with scheduling follow-up care/appointments as ordered/directed.
  9. Distributes pre-printed/pre-approved patient education materials. Directs all patient questions to provider or RN.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent in General Studies; Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant University or accredited training facility.
  • Certification: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA) by one of the listed certifying bodies; Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Professional Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) within 60 days of hire.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Any Medical Assistant hired between July 1, 2021, and June 30, 2024, may be granted 6 months to obtain national certification.
    • Any Medical Assistant hired after July 1, 2024, must hold one of the following national certifications upon hire:
      • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
      • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
      • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
      • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
      • American Medical Certification Association (AMCA)

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000-$65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
