Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Technician or Field Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Central Services department, you will be responsible for independently performing in-field equipment diagnostics and repairs using a mobile service vehicle. Your strong work ethic and ability to complete tasks efficiently with minimal supervision will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
You will serve as an in-field representative for the dealership, providing service solutions to customers in your assigned territory. Effective communication skills are essential to clearly articulate aspects of work being performed to customers in a courteous and effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology.
- Maintain accurate inventory of parts and special tools kept in stock on service vehicles.
- Identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities in your area of responsibility.
- Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders.
- Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and timely submission of information.
- Maintain current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5+ years of experience performing service repairs, with a proven track record of consistently meeting performance metrics.
- Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures on machines of your specialty.
- Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off-road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment.
- Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
- A valid driver's license is required; a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred.
- A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required; an associate's degree is preferred.
Compensation:
The estimated salary for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
