Molding Utility Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Molding Utility to join our team at McWane, Inc. in Anniston, AL.

Job Summary

The Molding Utility is responsible for performing various tasks related to the mold casting process. This includes setting up, operating, and maintaining metal molding, casting, and coremaking machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure personal safety and the safety of team members
  • Assist supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment
  • Set up, operate, or tend metal molding, casting, or coremaking machines
  • Sift and pack sand into mold sections, core boxes, and pattern contours
  • Clean and smooth molds, cores, and core boxes
  • Form and assemble slab cores around patterns and position wire in mold sections
  • Mix and measure compounds, or weigh premixed compounds, and dump them into machine tubs, cavities, or molds
Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
