Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Bozeman Health. As a key member of our Cardiology Clinic, you will be responsible for performing daily clinical adult cardiac ultrasound diagnostic procedures, assessing basic and advanced cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology, and creating preliminary reports for interpretation by cardiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine two-dimensional echo, stress echo, pharmacological stress echo, transesophageal echo, and emergent echo procedures in accordance with standard practice.
  • Utilize ultrasound enhancing agents (UEA's) and agitated saline when requested or clinically necessary.
  • Provide echocardiography service at all locations needed, working variable shifts, weekends, and providing emergent call coverage as scheduled.
  • Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures, maintaining equipment in working order and reporting any malfunctions to the biomed team or echo lab supervisor.
  • Evaluate patient's electronic medical record to obtain patient history, reason for exam, and any necessary information to perform study.
  • Prepare preliminary reports for review and interpretation by cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies.
  • Participate in professional education, lab meetings, and quality improvement projects.
  • Participate in the reaccreditation process and quality demands of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission of Echocardiography (IAC-Echo).
  • Complete documentation of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology from a CAAHEP program or Health Science Program.
  • American Heart Association BLS.
  • Current Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) required within one (1) year of hire.
  • Six (6) months of clinical training in cardiac ultrasound or comparable experience.
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of experience in post-graduation cardiac ultrasound and American Heart Association ACLS.
Working Conditions

This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

Reaching Above Shoulder Level (Repeatedly): Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects as necessary above the shoulder, requiring strength and stability. Fine-Finger Movements (Continuously): Picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than using the whole hand as in handling. Vision (Continuously): Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures and to read computer screens, printed materials, and handwritten documents. Skills (Continuously): Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow.
