Job Title: After-School Program Counselor

Department: Parks and Recreation

Hourly Rate: $16.00 per hour

Part Time
1:45 pm - 6:15 pm

2:15 pm - 6:15 pm

Position Overview:

  • Designs, promotes, and coordinates activities for participants of all ages
  • Engages community members to join in new and existing programs
  • Addresses inquiries and concerns in a professional manner
  • Upholds program regulations and oversees designated areas
  • Organizes and prepares activities for program attendees

Essential Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with basic office operations and computer applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Capacity to build and maintain effective working relationships
  • Minimum age of 18 years
  • Possession of a valid State of Georgia driver's license
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • At least one year of training or relevant experience in school-age care
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory

Certifications and Licenses:

  • CPR, First Aid, and Prevent Child Abuse certifications are required

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as bend, squat, and twist regularly
  • Must be able to operate a city vehicle physically
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
