Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in the daily operation of our hospital pharmacy, assisting pharmacists in preparing medications, filling clinicians' prescriptions, and delivering and charging medications for in and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing medications and filling clinicians' prescriptions
  • Deliver and charge medications for in and outpatients
  • Perform various technical and clerical duties to ensure accurate and lawful execution of standards established by the State Board of Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary pharmaceuticals
  • Data entry experience and ability to organize work by tasks
  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Ability to safely move and handle up to 50 lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in veterinary health care
  • National Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
  • Technical pharmacy experience
  • Education or training in pharmacy procedures, biology, pharmacology, and math
