Nurse - Supportive Living Position

Asbury Court is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide assigned residents with routine daily nursing care in accordance with established nursing care procedures, state and federal guidelines, and as directed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans with allied health team members.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to policy and procedures, evaluating treatment effectiveness on a continuing basis.
  • Maintain a physical, social, and psychological environment conducive to the overall welfare of residents.
  • Participate in resident and family teaching.
  • Monitor team member performance and become involved in staff development, evaluation, and discipline when indicated.
  • Assign nursing care duties to team members and ensure such duties are completed in an appropriate manner.
  • Remain current in facility policies, procedures, and nursing trends by participating in in-service and continuing education programs.
  • Recognize significant changes in resident condition and take necessary action.
  • Document nursing care rendered, resident response, and all other pertinent data as outlined in facility policies and procedures.
  • Function as a charge nurse, serving as a resource person to staff, answering questions, problem-solving, and making decisions relevant to resident care.
  • Adhere to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing education program.
  • Illinois registration as a professional nurse.
  • No abuse convictions.
  • Ability to communicate and work well with patients and staff members.
  • Ability to follow facility policies and procedures.
  • Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics to function adequately.
  • Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, mentally ill, emotionally upset, and at times hostile and violent residents.
  • Ability to remain current in practice as applicable to the job.
