Position Overview

As a vital member of our team at 24Hr Safety, our Class A CDL Operators are responsible for the loading, transportation, and delivery of equipment and supplies to various job sites. We seek individuals who are reliable, responsible, and possess a positive demeanor, committed to delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Timely delivery and collection of customer equipment, including breathing air and bottle trailers, from designated locations.
  • Foster positive customer relations, striving to enhance relationships through prompt, accurate, and timely deliveries.
  • Act as an Air Shop Technician when required, conducting inspections, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing of customer equipment according to established procedures.
  • Continuously seek to enhance skills and capabilities to manage new tasks and responsibilities aligned with organizational needs.
  • Recognize the authority and obligation to refuse unsafe tasks and report any incidents to management immediately.
  • Respond promptly and with urgency to work requests from the Operations Dispatcher.
  • Adhere to all relevant DOT regulations, inspecting equipment for damage or excessive wear during pickups and reporting findings.
  • Follow safety and operational checklists for each vehicle and trailer type before every haul.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed and submitted to the Operations Dispatcher for all deliveries and pickups.
  • Maintain safe and courteous driving practices at all times.
  • Learn and adhere to site-specific driving and safety protocols for each customer facility during visits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Safety-conscious with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Class A CDL driver with a current hazmat endorsement.
  • Possession of a current TWIC card.
  • Must be at least 23 years of age.
  • Ability to access all client sites without restrictions.
  • Clean driving record with the capacity to pass background and drug tests.
  • Ability to regularly push and/or pull 110 pounds (wheeled rack) while using safety PPE.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands outlined here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and communicate effectively.
  • Frequent walking and climbing or balancing are required.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be able to push/pull 110 pounds (wheeled rack).

Position Type

This is a full-time, direct hire position. Overtime or weekend hours may be necessary, and a rotating on-call schedule including weekends is required.
