Job Summary

This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing advanced mechanical structures under the direction of the Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with software-defined mobility solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a master plan aligned with the company's corporate business objectives.
  • Perform experiments, analyze data, and create new techniques and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software-defined mobility solutions.
  • Create technical documentation, design specifications, and best practices guides.
  • Represent the company with major customers and the public.
  • Participate in standardization across software-defined mobility technology and programs.
  • Review software-defined mobility proposals and provide direction on design and development activities.
  • Direct research and development, quality control, and product modification and improvement activities.
  • Oversee the review of product design for compliance with engineering principles and customer requirements.
  • Travel to customer locations and company manufacturing facilities as needed.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 4 years of related experience with a Master's degree or 7 years with a Bachelor's degree is required.

Skills:

  • Ability to make test plans and execute experiments.
  • CAD tools skills such as Solidworks.
  • CAE skills such as stress, thermal, and vibration analysis.
  • Mechanical components knowledge for automotive.
  • Worst case analysis skill.
  • D-FMEA skill.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and present development outcomes.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel: Domestic and international travel may be required as needed.

Work Environment: Primarily in a professional business office with exposure to testing areas and manufacturing environments.
