Job Summary

This is a part-time payroll specialist position at Indian River State College. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining employee/payroll records, providing support with payroll activities, and ensuring accuracy of payroll.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all payroll operations according to company policies and procedures.
  • Track employee hours, leave time, and attendance.
  • Provide backup support to other payroll team members and assist employees with HR, payroll, and time-keeping inquiries.
  • Assist with the validation of employee work hours, calculating pay and deductions, and benefits.
  • Generate payroll reports, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end statements.
  • Handle records management, paper, and digital files.
  • Assist with payroll audits and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure confidentiality of payroll information.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven work experience in payroll or finance-related areas.
  • Proven computer experience in Microsoft Office, including data input.
  • Strong business aptitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Basic clerical skills, including typing, word processing, and filing.
  • Good organizational and basic accounting skills.
  • Ability to be detail-oriented and perform accurately under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Demands

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines.
