This position is responsible for providing patients with diagnostic radiologic testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiology and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform radiologic procedures with all x-ray equipment as requested by a physician.
  • Introduce self to patient and fully explain the exam prior to the start of the exam.
  • Obtain proper patient history, including previous allergic reactions, history of allergies, menstrual history, and other information that is appropriate to the patient's safety.
  • Position the patient in the x-ray equipment for each view by using the proper technique (MA, time, KVP) in order to reduce radiation exposure.
  • Inform and explain to patients the reason for delay of more than 15 minutes from scheduled appointment time.
  • Keep assigned work areas clean and stocked, check emergency kits, oxygen and suction, and report any low supplies to the tech in charge.
  • Learns and practices sterile technique when it is required for a procedure, and assists the radiologist during all fluoroscopy and special procedures.
  • Learns how to process a patient through the hospital and radiology information system, and learns how to utilize the PACS system properly.
  • Reviews bulletin boards and mail boxes daily for any pertinent information from the hospital, new policies, new procedures, or any other general information.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated clinical competency in the field of radiology.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills required, and strong interpersonal skills a must.
  • A high degree of independent action and exercise of judgment is a must, along with a creative ability.
  • Ability to work under required deadlines and schedules, while being flexible to handle special requests and projects.
  • Ability to multi-task under stressful situations, and ability to professionally handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to provide compassionate patient care.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
