Pediatric Care Assistant II

As a Pediatric Care Assistant II on the 7th Floor Tower at Dayton Children's Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to infants, children, and teens. Our team is dedicated to delivering compassionate, family-centered care, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our team.
Responsibilities:
• Assist nurses in completing patient care activities, taking into consideration the patient's developmental levels.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, accept delegated tasks, and have the knowledge and understanding to ask questions and report patient information as indicated.
• Appropriately handle patient information, understanding confidentiality and privacy.
• Comply with the safety management program designed to provide a physical environment free of hazards and to reduce the risk of injury.
• Be knowledgeable about and responsive to the mission of the hospital.
• Promote a patient and family experience-oriented environment and act as a change agent to meet the rapidly changing census and needs of all customers-both internal and external.
• Measure and record vital signs, intake and output, assist patients with activities of daily living, and provide safe transportation and environment for patients.
Requirements:
• HSD/GED is required.
• PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.
