Salary
The estimated annual salary for this position is $115,000, which includes a base salary of $100,000 plus an additional $15,000 location stipend and $15,000 sign-on bonus.
Job Description
This role requires responsible individuals to ensure aircraft and weather conditions are airworthy, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines. Pilots must have thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures.
- Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally.
- Complete pre-flight checks before every flight, verifying the aircraft's airworthiness.
- Final authority on aircraft operations and passenger, cargo, and equipment safety.
- Familiarize themselves with aircraft and medical systems, as well as educate medical flight teams on equipment and systems.
- Responsible for completing required documentation.
- Conduct detailed flight planning with short notice to exacting standards.
- Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees, and community outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess:
- An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Maintain a weight not exceeding 250 pounds and be less than 70 years old.
- Positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public.
- Prior experience flying in the same category within the previous 24 months.
