Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operating Room Manager to lead our team in Southwest Houston, TX. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing all department functions and staff, including surgery, anesthesia, and sterile processing. The successful candidate will establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, and vendors, while collaborating with senior leadership to meet facility goals.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Collaboration: Serve as a high-visibility leader, role model, and professional mentor, representing a positive image of the unit/practice area to the organization.
- Patient Care Delivery: Ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care delivery, in line with regulatory requirements.
- Quality and Safety: Collaborate with physicians and nursing leadership to identify innovative ideas impacting growth, quality, and/or efficiency.
- Staff Management: Monitor and ensure excellent clinical practice, staff orientation, training, and documentation in performance improvement, risk management, safety, infection control, and accreditation programs.
- Policies and Procedures: Ensure policies, procedures, and standards of care are applied and maintained, in line with facility growth.
- Communication and Vision: Effectively define and communicate a vision of excellence for the unit/practice area, while establishing and maintaining relationships with departments providing support services.
- Nursing Knowledge and Skills: Strong nursing knowledge and skills in clinical areas of responsibility, with good judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Leadership Experience: Five years of clinical experience in the operating room, with one year in a leadership role.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on education, experience, and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, employee assistance program, short and long-term disability insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a 2-year vesting period.
