About the RoleAs a Burn Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with burn injuries. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled and/or as needed, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
- Conduct complete patient evaluation before procedure, including review of patient history and diagnostic tests, as well as physical and psychological assessments.
- Ensure patient/family/caregiver understands the procedure and the peri-operative process. Obtain and witness consent form.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including active listening. Ensure patients, physicians, and colleagues have a clear understanding of all communications, and escalate care concerns appropriately.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
