Position Overview

The Cochlear Implant Audiologist Specialist at Jackson Ear Clinic will be responsible for providing comprehensive audiological services, specializing in cochlear implants. The role includes patient assessment, cochlear implant candidacy evaluations, programming, and ongoing management of cochlear implant patients.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with Neurotology physicians, audiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and help individuals with hearing-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating patients for cochlear implant candidacy through aided and unaided sound-field testing.
  • Conducting diagnostic testing for adult cochlear implant recipients, including intra-operative testing of electrode action potentials, routine impedance measurements, and MAPing adjustments.
  • Providing a full range of diagnostic hearing and vestibular testing services.
  • Performing specialized testing, such as Vestibular-ocular reflex (VOR) analysis.
  • Evaluating the benefit of hearing aid use, including electroacoustic evaluation of the hearing aid, functional gain measures, and real-ear measurements with the hearing aid.

Requirements

  • A Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) or equivalent degree.
  • A valid Mississippi audiology license or ability to obtain one.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in audiology, preferably with a focus on cochlear implants.
