Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Patient Services: Provide speech therapy services to patients as ordered by a physician, following the Plan of Care.
  • Engaging Exercises and Activities: Prepare and implement stimulating exercises and activities for speech sessions with patients.
  • Counseling and Consultations: Offer guidance and support to new patients and their family members.
  • Goal Setting and Progress Tracking: Establish and monitor goals for patients, identifying areas of progress and challenges.
  • Safety and Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper sterilization and safety procedures are followed when preparing speech pathology equipment.
  • Continuing Education: Attend courses and workshops to advance knowledge and skills within the field.
Requirements
  • Certification and Licensure: Hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Therapy and be licensed in the State of Texas.
  • Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate expertise in computer software used for documentation and report preparation.
  • Education: Possess a Master's degree in Speech Therapy.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA legislation and other patient privacy laws, handling sensitive information with care.
  • Software Troubleshooting: Be proficient in resolving common software and hardware issues related to speech pathology tools.
  • Physical Demands: Exhibit physical endurance and the ability to work primarily in a standing position.
