Nursing Station Clerk

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Nursing Station Clerk to join our team at SUNY Upstate Medical University. As a Nursing Station Clerk, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the nursing staff and patients in the 6B Medicine/Telemetry Department.
Key Responsibilities:- Refer incoming calls and messages to the nursing staff
- Greet and assist visitors to the department
- Record preparation and initiate patient services
- Process physician and nursing staff orders
- Input patient registration and other relevant information into the hospital computer system
- One year of full-time clerical, secretarial, or patient care experience in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology desired
A 37.5 hour work week with a schedule based on Monday to Friday day shifts and some holidays. Depending on experience, a traineeship may be required for 26 weeks at SG06 level, followed by promotion to a journeyman title at SG07.
