Clarvida is in search of a creative and purpose-driven individual to fill the role of Bilingual Pre-Licensed Therapist.
Compensation: $35/hr plus an incentive of $900-$1,300/month
Pico Rivera provides field, school, and clinic-based mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults from birth to 20 years of age. Through Medi-Cal and Indigent funding, services are delivered to juvenile justice, child welfare, and school-based populations utilizing a variety of evidence-based practices, including Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Managing and Adapting Practice, Seeking Safety, and Nurturing Parenting Program.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensure that mental health treatment services are delivered in a manner that maximizes client independence and empowers families. Provide individual and group counseling services to assist individuals in achieving more effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
EDUCATION AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Must be registered as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, or Associate Clinical Social Worker.
- Proof of a valid California driver's license and auto insurance, as well as proof of education, are required.
- A minimum of two years of experience with mental health patients (inpatient and outpatient).
- Direct clinical and case management experience with knowledge of rehabilitation philosophy.
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Intermediate computer skills are required.
- Provide crisis intervention consultation and other activities directly related to the intervention process.
- Deliver individual (adult and children), group, and family therapy.
- Offer occupational, educational, and other information to assist individuals in formulating realistic educational and vocational plans.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning.
- Engage in program development and staff in-services.
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Perform administrative functions consistent with the needs of the program.
- Conduct counseling or therapeutic interviews to help individuals gain insight into personal issues, define goals, and plan actions reflecting their interests, abilities, and needs.
- Document in medical records according to company and regulatory agency requirements.
- Evaluate data to identify causes of individual problems and determine the advisability of counseling or referral to other specialists or institutions.
- Maintain and ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional boundaries with all staff and clients.
- Follow up on counseling results to assess the reliability and validity of the treatment used.
- May be required to provide a minimum number of hours weekly, as specified by the supervisor or director.
- May provide consultation/education to community service clubs, organizations, school districts, human service agencies, hospitals, and various county departments.
- May provide linkages to intensive interventions aimed at developing skills to mediate the effects of mental crises, trauma, or depression.
- May teach various educational classes (parenting, domestic violence, anger management, etc.) and provide on-site therapy in schools.
- Monthly productivity requirement is a minimum of 70 hours (18 hours/week).
- May be required to spend up to 80% of time counseling individuals (adult and children), group and family therapy; students or working with parents/caretakers on and/or off-site.
- Transport clients to foster community relationships. Use of a personal vehicle is required.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary to support the client, program, and the company.
