Position Information:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director and APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients.
This position may involve both inpatient and outpatient care, depending on the needs of the service.
Responsibilities may include:
- Completing referrals and consults
- Conducting daily patient rounds and taking notes
- Preparing discharge summaries and procedures
- Prescribing medication and providing patient care follow-ups
- Working closely with other healthcare providers in a collaborative multidisciplinary approach
- Functioning as an educator for PA/NP/CNM/DO students from healthcare education programs
The NP/PA will maintain the scope of practice consistent with the policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines governed by the North Carolina Medical Board, Nursing Board, and other federal or state regulatory agencies, as well as WakeMed's policies and procedures.
Additional certifications, such as Advanced Life Support, may be required based on the clinical area of practice.
The NP/PA understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed.
Experience Requirements:
Experience: 1 year clinical - Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Education Required:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work under the general supervision of their Medical Director and APP Manager in WakeMed Physician Practices to deliver competent medical care to patients.

M-F 7:45-4:30.

No weekends.

No call required.
