Position Overview:
The RAND Corporation is in search of a Financial Accountant to manage General Ledger accounting responsibilities that support the organization's financial operations.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Recording journal entries and conducting bank/general ledger account reconciliations.
2. Performing fluctuation analysis and assisting in the preparation of management reports, quarterly and annual financial statements, and roll forwards.
3. Compiling supporting documentation and preparing schedules for audit requests, along with various ad hoc projects as assigned by management.
- A solid understanding of accounting transactions is essential.
- Ability to quickly adapt and learn new tasks independently.
- Strong communication, writing, and analytical skills are required.
- Proficiency in organizing workflow efficiently.
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is necessary.
- Capability to research, compile, and analyze data for projects and reports as needed.
- Experience in non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite is required, with strong Excel skills and experience handling large data sets.
- Familiarity with Workday ERP is a plus.
Education Requirements:
- A minimum of a BS/BA in Finance, Business, or Accounting is required.
- CPA or progress towards CPA is advantageous.
Experience:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in Business or Accounting is necessary.
- A preference for candidates with 3 years of experience.
Location:
- Hybrid work arrangement available.
Compensation:
- Salary range from 62,700 to 91,500, considering various factors including role responsibilities, work experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
