Position Overview
The Cardiac Recovery Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in the Heart and Vascular Recovery unit, providing care for patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures. This includes managing pre and post-operative care for cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and vascular patients.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure professional accountability in delivering patient care for assigned individuals.
- Assess the overall effectiveness of care provided and make necessary adjustments.
- Collaborate with various departments to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Uphold patient rights and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Execute responsibilities in alignment with Mercy service standards.

Qualifications
- Current RN License in Missouri or eligibility for licensure in the state.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) are mandatory.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Cardiac telemetry, Pre/Post Cardiac Care, or Cardiac Step-down is required.
- Familiarity with TR bands and sheath removal is preferred.

Work Schedule
- Shift: Days
- Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
- Weekend Hours: As required by the facility, typically every other weekend.
- Call Requirements: None.

Unit Specific Information
- Number of Beds: 8
- Patient Ratios: Varies, typically 1:4-1:5 during the day shift (estimates, not guarantees).
- Equipment: General monitoring systems.
- EKG/EMR: EPIC.

The unit specializes in caring for critically ill patients before and after interventions. Responsibilities include delivering patient care, evaluating the effectiveness of treatments, and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions.
