Position Summary:
The role involves providing essential pre-hospital medical assistance to individuals experiencing health emergencies. The candidate must exhibit comprehensive skills and proficiency in executing all EMT functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver advanced and basic emergency medical care to patients in need.
2. Ensure all medical equipment is maintained and ready for immediate use.
3. Participate in the onboarding and training of new team members.
4. Assist in the education of students during their practical training within the EMS framework.
5. Collaborate with Emergency Room personnel to support daily operations and patient care.
6. Suggest improvements to supervisory staff to enhance the efficiency of the EMS system.
7. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of crew facilities.
8. Successfully complete a minimum of twenty Advanced Life Support (ALS) calls under the guidance of an approved Paramedic Mentor.
9. Conduct ALS patient assessments and documentation while under the direct supervision of a preceptor.
10. Complete all required ALS clinical observation documentation.
11. Regularly review ALS progress with quality assurance and mentoring staff.
12. Prepare for advancement to Paramedic 1 level B.
13. Meet all contractual obligations associated with the EMS role.
14. Perform at least two intubation procedures.
15. Accompany an approved preceptor on a minimum of twenty ALS calls.
16. Adhere to all medical control and compliance requirements set by the sponsor hospital.
17. Fulfill all responsibilities related to the position and undertake additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Additional Information:
Required Qualifications: High School graduate with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
Must hold a CT Paramedic license, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and a valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Science-related field. Certifications in AHA BLS, PHTLS/ITLS, TECC/TCCC, and NRP are advantageous.
