Medical Transcription Specialist

Hampton Ridge Healthcare & Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled Medical Transcription Specialist to contribute to our patient care mission. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing medical reports and documents from audio recordings provided by our healthcare professionals.
Your role is crucial in ensuring that all medical records are complete, accurate, and in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This is a fully remote position, allowing you the flexibility to work from home while making a meaningful impact on patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe medical dictations including patient histories, examination results, treatment plans, and operative reports into written documents.
- Ensure the accuracy of transcribed documents by reviewing and editing for grammar, punctuation, and clarity.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage and organize files, ensuring all documents are well-maintained and easily accessible for healthcare professionals.
- Stay updated with medical terminology, anatomy, and transcription guidelines to ensure accuracy.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to clarify any inconsistencies or discrepancies in reports.
- Meet deadlines for transcriptions, ensuring timely submission of medical documents.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and transcription software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy under tight deadlines.
- Excellent typing skills with a high level of accuracy and speed.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload remotely.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and the importance of patient confidentiality.
