Position Overview:
The Financial Grants Specialist plays a crucial role in the financial management of grants and contracts within the College. This position is responsible for applying accounting principles to ensure effective administration of grant funds, including budget formulation, financial analysis, and compliance monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret financial data to ensure adherence to Federal regulations and institutional policies.
- Manage post-award processes such as award setup, maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and submit accurate financial reports to funding agencies in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project directors to monitor budgetary compliance and prepare necessary modifications.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
- A minimum of five years of experience in accounting, with a strong focus on grants accounting preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software.
Essential Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to foster effective collaboration with faculty and staff.
- Knowledge of federal Uniform Guidance and fund accounting principles is advantageous.
Physical and Work Environment:
- The role may require the use of computers and other electronic devices regularly.
- Occasional lifting of materials up to 25 pounds may be necessary.
This position is integral to maintaining the financial integrity of the College's grant programs and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
