Job Summary

Wilmington College is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Physical Plant Department on the main campus. This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires a strong background in maintenance repair work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Maintenance Tasks: Conduct a variety of skills and semi-skilled maintenance tasks, repairs, and assists with improving the College-owned facilities, property, and equipment.
  • Electrical and Plumbing Work: Perform electrical and plumbing work, including light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, circuits, generators, water lines, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, and pumps.
  • Hazard Removal: Assist with hazard removal, such as snow and ice, as needed.
  • Supervise Student Workers: Supervise student workers as needed.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the advancement of the College.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least three years of training or experience in maintenance repair work is required.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of maintenance repair work, including light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, associated hand and power tools, and equipment, and associated safety practices.
  • Driver's License: Valid State of Ohio driver's license.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to perform tasks in low, high, and tight spaces, handle exposure to dirt, dust, grease, electricity, climatic weather, various chemicals, and equipment with moving parts and loud noise.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 100 lbs (50 lbs on a regular basis).
  • Machine Tools and Equipment: Use of machine tools, ladders, and equipment.
  • Driving and Operating: Ability to drive and operate utility vehicles.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime when needed.
