The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays a crucial role in delivering both direct and indirect nursing care to patients facing urgent, emergent, or potential health challenges. This position requires the application of fundamental nursing principles, ethical practices, and concepts under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner to effectively address patient needs within a medical office environment.

PIH Health is a nonprofit healthcare organization that provides services to approximately 3 million residents across the Los Angeles County, Orange County, and San Gabriel Valley areas. The comprehensive network includes PIH Health Downey Hospital, PIH Health Good Samaritan Hospital, PIH Health Whittier Hospital, 37 outpatient medical facilities, a multispecialty physician group, home healthcare services, and hospice care. Additionally, the organization offers specialized services in heart care, oncology, digestive health, orthopedics, women's health, urgent care, and emergency services. Essential Skills
  • Proficient verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Solid grasp of nursing principles.

  • Familiarity with computer-based practice management systems and other digital tools (including Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems).
  • Effective communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.
Qualifications

Mandatory:

  • Valid California LVN license.
  • Proof of ongoing education.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing direct nursing care in a medical office setting.
