Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Technologist to join our team at Premier Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic procedures, utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. You will work under your scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform Radiographic procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols and evaluates images for technical quality.
  2. Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the radiographic procedure.
  3. Implement screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed policies / procedures. Perform daily and weekly QC as required.
  4. Prepare and administer contrast media to the patient according to policy. Practice sterile techniques.
  5. Assist Radiologist in special procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
  6. Coordinate patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
  7. Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educate patients about exam.
  8. Ensure that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, perform clerical duties when necessary, verify a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
  9. Maintain knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
  10. Follow radiation safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:

To be successful as a Diagnostic Imaging Technologist, you will need to have a strong understanding of radiographic procedures and techniques, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
