We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Youth Enrichment Instructor to join our team at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. As a Youth Enrichment Instructor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children in our before and after school programs.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Create and implement a wide variety of enrichment activities for grades K-8 in a before or after school program setting.
- Supervision and Safety: Provide effective supervision of youth, ensuring their safety and security at all times.
- Communication and Teamwork: Positively interact with youth, parents/guardians, and other team members to create a respectful and supportive environment.
- Lesson Planning and Preparation: Prepare lesson plans on a daily and/or weekly basis, outlining program activities and ensuring materials and supplies are available.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate attendance, instructional, and other records as necessary to meet program requirements.
- Age and Education: Must be at least 17 years of age and/or 5 years older than the oldest child participating in the program, with a high school diploma or GED and related college coursework or equivalent experience in childcare, education, or recreation.
- Relationship Building and Communication: Proven ability to establish constructive relationships and interact as a positive role model for youth and staff, demonstrating values of respect, responsibility, caring, and honesty.
- Passion for the YMCA's Mission: Commitment to and passion for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago's mission, including a passion for working with diverse youth.
- Physical Qualifications: Meets physical qualifications required as outlined in the job description.
