Laboratory Collector

Cayuga Health System is a leading healthcare provider seeking a skilled Laboratory Collection - Phlebotomist I to join our team.

This Full-Time role involves performing adult and pediatric phlebotomy, as well as daily tasks including centrifuging, aliquoting, and stabilizing patient specimens for transport via courier or pneumatic tube system. Accurate registration, insurance verification, and patient demographics are also essential responsibilities.

• Perform venipuncture and post-care of phlebotomy sites with zero labeling errors.
• Register patients, verify insurance, and maintain accurate patient demographics.
• Participate in quality assurance and maintain interdepartmental workflow.
• Maintain professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with lab and hospital procedures, HIPAA standards, and safety guidelines.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational phlebotomy (or related) course/program, or 1 year of phlebotomy experience.
